tum blockchain conference 25

in projects

This past week marked the third iteration of the TUM Blockchain Conference, this time in the House of Communication in Munich. Even though I could not attend in person as I am currently in Australia, I had the privilege of serving as Co-Head of the Conference, leading the Logistics Team and co-heading the Sponsorship Team. But seeing everything come together from afar was so rewarding.

We brought together people from all across the globe. Students, startups, enterprises, and researchers, all united by a shared passion for Web3. The energy, ideas, and connections sparked over just two days showed how much impact a student-run initiative can create.

A special thank you to the people who made this possible: Gopi Mehta, my Co-Head of Conference, for driving this vision alongside me. Alexander Semenov, my Co-Head of Sponsors, for ensuring strong partnerships. Felix Rihacek, who supported me on location and took over everything I couldn’t do from afar. Eva Freiberger, our Head of Marketing, for shaping our communication and reach. Rami Ezzeddine, our Head of Legal & Finance, for making sure everything ran smoothly behind the scenes.

At the same time, there is a reality we cannot ignore: while professors and individuals at TUM have supported us and we are grateful for that (Filip Rezabek, Philipp Maume, Florian Matthes and so many more), broader institutional support has consistently been missing. No funding and no presence from university leadership at our conference. To see students build one of Europe’s largest Web3 conferences on their own while being ignored from the top is disappointing, and honestly, sad.

That is why I am even prouder of what we have achieved: only through vision, teamwork, and countless volunteer hours, we have built something that rivals professional conferences.

With this, I am also sharing that I will not be running for any further leadership position in the TUM Blockchain Club. My time with the club gave me so much, personally and academically, and organizing Europe’s largest student-run Web3 conference has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my time at university. I am deeply grateful to everyone I have worked with along the way.
